I know I'm going to get many people disagreeing with me when I say I don't believe alcoholism is a disease. A.A. tells us it's a disease. Most books on alcoholism tell us alcoholism is a disease. Another common phrase is that we're powerless over alcohol. Now that may be true. But does that make it a disease? I think not.

I consider a disease something we get in the form of a sickness that we can't do anything about. It wasn't our choice to get the disease. Drinking alcohol is a choice. We pick up a drink and drink it. If we're an alcoholic we know we shouldn't pick up the drink because our bodies don't handle alcohol in the same way as someone who doesn't have the alcoholic trait. But to call alcoholism a disease isn't correct.

According to Mirriam-Webster the definition of alcoholism is "a chronic disorder marked by excessive and usually compulsive drinking of alcohol leading to psychological and physical dependence or addiction." Yes, that I agree with. This is the definition of what alcoholism really is. I think the reason why so many people like using the term "disease" is that it lets them off the hook. Think about it. If I say I have a disease I'm not responsible for drinking too much at times or ruining the dinner party because I drank too much and started telling everyone what I really thought of them. No, it's not my fault. I HAVE A DISEASE. I get sympathy too when it's a disease. If everyone thinks I have a disease I'll get some slack. I get NO sympathy if I drink too much, drive drunk and crash the car and say "I'm sorry, I drank compulsively because I have a chronic disorder."

I say let's call alcoholism what it really is. And it's not a disease.

Childhood obesity is already a very serious and disturbing problem in the United States of America and many parts of Europe where obesity in general is increasing.The problem looks set to spread to other parts of the world as their standard of living improves.A diet with a high fat, sugar and salt intake and a sedentary lifestyle have all been major contributing factors in childhood obesity. As a result children are getting Type 2 diabetes and other illnesses usually associated with middle age. We have a generation of children who may well die before their parents.

It seems that the present generation is no longer keen on traditional competitive team games. Modern technology has led to children wanting to entertain themselves and to be personally in charge of the activity. Television and computer games loom large in their lives.

Overweight and obese children need to follow a strict weight loss regime and take increased exercise to help burn up the calories. The difficulty is that children who have a problem with their weight don't enjoy the changes in their eating habits and are unenthusiastic about exercise. Cajoling, bribery, and threats do not work. The trick is to find an activity which burns calories but is not necessarily immediately seen as exercise. It also needs to be interesting and fun. This is where dance comes into its' own as a calorie burning aerobic form of exercise.

Dance, partially due to television shows, is now the "in" way to exercise. Increasing numbers of people are using dance workouts as a way of exercising. You don't need to be a great dancer to enjoy the health benefits of dancing. The main purpose is to enjoy moving to music and music plays a large role in young peoples lives these days

Dancing can be a really good Mind-Body-Spirit workout. Physical activity in general keeps body and brain healthy by increasing the amounts of brain chemicals that encourage nerve cells to grow. Dance helps people of all ages and physical limitations to get and stay in shape. There is chair and wheelchair dancing for people (including children) who have mobility difficulties.

The benefits of dancing are the same as other low-impact weight bearing activities such as walking fast, cycling or aerobics. This form of exercise also strengthens bones and muscles without stressing the joints. It tones the whole body and improves posture and balance. There is an increase in stamina and flexibility and a reduction in stress and tension which are often a problem for overweight children.

There are numerous forms of dance which may appeal to children and which could help in the battle against childhood obesity

Hip Hop and Capoeira are two dance forms which children may find appealing. Capoeira is a Brazilian hybrid dance and martial art. Cardio Capoeira is very challenging indeed. An exercise session involves heavy sparring (i.e dancing ) that can be done either solo or with a partner. It involves a lot of kicking, spinning and cartwheels. In this workout the buttocks, quadriceps and hamstrings are really exercised due to the multiple repetitions of a deep side-to-side lunge which links one capoeira movement to the next.

Cardio Salsa is a low-impact but high intensity workout combining prcise, fast-paced Latin choreography - merengue, mambo, cha-cha, samba - with traditional aerobic dance steps (such as the grapevine), repeated lunges, and arm raises. The great advantage of this exercise programme is that what is learned can be practised on the dance floor. Knowing the steps and being able to move to complex rhythms is likely to increase self-confidence and poise.

Masala Bhangra , is a challenging workout, based on the traditional folk dance of India. It involves a choreographed series of hops, foot stomping and hip gyrations accompanied by hip-hop influenced bhangra music and live drumming. Most moves are performed while vigorously shaking the arms at 45 degree angles to the side of the body and doing multiple, rapid-fire shoulder raises. This form of dance workout results in firm arms and sculpted shoulders. The same sort of classes are also known as Bhangra Aerobics.

There is now a dance form which is proving highly popular with people in general and is proving to be a great hit with children. The video game Dance Dance Revolution (D.D.R) is made by Konami of Japan where it was located in arcades in that country.It is now more usually played on Sony's Playstation 2 and Microsoft's box game consoles.
There are a number of other games such as Red Octanes's In the Groove, Pump It Up, Exceed, Dance Along and Para Para Paradise.

The video game Dance Dance Revolution and other such games may be a means of helping children loose weight. As a song plays (and all sorts of music is suitable) arrows pointing forward, back, left and right, appear on the screen in various sequences and combinations. The players must step on the matching arrows on a mat on the floor. Players can dance by themselves, with a partner or in competition

Some states in the U.S are already using it as a regular part of their physical education curriculum. Dance Dance Revolution offers excercise without children having to possess the skills demanded by sport and games. As a result it appeals to children across the board.

A study was carried out last year in Rochester, Minn. an area which has a particularly severe problem with childhood obesity. The research team from the Mayo Clinic found that children playing Dance Dance Revolution used significantly more energy than children watching television and playing traditional video games. D.D.R does meet standards for aerobic fitness by raising the heart rate sufficiently for the required period of time.

In Redmond, Oregon In the Groove was installed in third and fourth grade classrooms for a five-month study. The most "at risk" students were chosen to become "Groove Masters", mentors to other children. Some of the results from the study included:-

1. Absenteeism dropped by more than 50%

2. According to teachers, 85% of the mentors grew in social skills

3. 94% of the students who took part showed increases in leadership skills and confidence, which increased self-esteem and improved academic performance.

4. 4th grade students who took part in the study improved their mile run by 13.8%

5.Students became more enthusiastic about sports, fitness and dance,

The games were shown to give a good aerobic workout and to assist in weight loss, a very important factor in the battle against childhood obesity.

Dr Debra Liebermann of the Dept. of Communications, at UC Santa Barbara calls this video activity "exergaming". She described Dance Dance Revolution as a game, a social activity, a dance and performance platform, a workout and weight loss tool, and a classroom and workplace activity. She lists a number of reasons for its appeal:- the games challenges, the music, the joy of movement, the work out, and social interactions.

There are versions that allow aerobic instructors to work with a group.

Dr Liebermann's conclusions regarding these games was that they "make a very positive contribution to player's stress management, weight management, fitness and health".

This is perhaps a form of dance which will be acceptable to overweight children in that it is a fun happening which they will be happy to take part in.

Parents do take medical advice before putting your overweight child on a diet and exercise programme.

Huangshan Mao Feng Tea, one of China's ten most famous green teas, was first produced in 1875 during The Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in the area around Huangshan Mountain. The area features ideal growing climate for the tea. The tea trees are grown at altitudes of over 700 meters, and the fertile soil, cool air, and adequate rain make the tea leaves large and strong which gives Huangshan Mao Feng tea its long lasting aroma. What distinguishes Huangshan Mao Feng Tea from other Mao Feng Teas is the color of its leaves. The tea liquor is jade green in color and has a light flowery fragrance.

Huangshan Mao Feng Tea's name derives from its appearance and its growing location. The leaves look like the tongues of birds covered with silvery floss. In Chinese, "Mao" means fluffy, and "Feng" means mountain peaks. Although it is not a scented tea, it has many properties similar to scented tea. The tea liquor has an apricot flavor, and a fragrance like magnolias. No apricot trees or magnolias grow in the area, so it is unknown how Huangshan Mao Feng gets its unique flavors. There is however wild peach trees that grow in close proximity to the tea plants, and that may be the cause. Huangshan Mao Feng Tea drinkers say that the first brewing is fragrant, the second brewing is sweet, and the third brewing is strong. The tea tastes clean and refreshing, and lasts a long time on the tongue.

The techniques and production of Huangshan Mao Feng Tea are unique. The leaves are picked in when still buds with one unfolding leaf. The leaves when processed are yellow-green and covered with silvery hair. The best Huangshan Mao Feng Tea is picked early in the year in what is called pre Qingming picking, which is in early April. After picking, the tea leaves are spread out thinly in the sunlight to allow the leaves to wither. The freshly withered leaves are then pan fried in large woks over an open fire. The pan frying prevents the tea leaves from fermenting (oxidizing). While the tea leaves are being pan fried, they are rolled, which causes the leaves to twist, and curl. The production techniques strive to preserve the natural flavor of the fresh leaves, so that that flavor may be released during brewing.

There is an ancient Chinese legend surrounding the origins of Huangshan Mao Feng Tea. It is said that young scholar and a beautiful woman who worked in a tea plantation were madly in love. One day a local landowner saw the woman and wanting her for his own, seized her and forced her to become her concubine. The woman escaped only to find that the landowner had killed the young scholar. When she found this out, she immediately went to his grave which was located high on a mountainside. She wept uncontrollably until she became the rain, and the young scholar became a tea tree. It is said this is why the area where the tea trees grows is cloudy and humid all year. The tea orchards growing on the mountain slopes near Huangshan Mountain are beautiful any time of the year, but the best time to visit it is when the girls are out among the tea trees picking the fresh buds. It is a particularly beautiful scene. Visitors to the area at this time are able to go out among the tea trees and help in the harvesting of this wonderful tea.

The plain truth is that the pagan pope (Catholics aren't Christian) was a Roman wolf in sheep's clothing, a politician who spoke out of both sides of his mouth. Remember the popes are both a religious leader and head of state.

Today's Boomers are a very busy group of people. From buying new homes, vacationing around the world, and using their business savvy skills to become the most profitable group of retirees ever, you would think that Boomers would enjoy saying good bye to their parenting years and embark on their new solo journeys. However, today's Boomers are finding themselves in a very similar role to the one they've played for the past eighteen years, grandparents raising grandkids.

There are a number of different reasons why more grandparents are taking a larger role in raising grandkids. In fact, so many grandparents are raising grandchildren that this family unit has a new name- grandfamilies. Grandparents have always played a vital role in the family unit structure. They have served primarily in the role as mentor and support provider to the parents as well as for grandchildren. However, modern grandparents are finding that they are providing much more day-to-day care for grandchildren then in time's past.

Grandfamilies are becoming increasingly more common for a number of reasons. First, as the divorce rates rise, more single parent families are facing the burdens, stress, and pressures of raising families by themselves. Often, grandparents move in with their single parent child to help raise the children. Other times the stress of parenting becomes so overwhelming that parents turn their children over to their parent's care.

Financial trouble and divorce aren't the only reason for the rising rate of grandfamilies; crime and substance abuse play a strong factor as well. When parents become incarcerated, fail to raise their children due to drug or alcohol abuse, or lose their children due to abuse or neglect it is often grandparents who step in and pick up the reigns. No matter what the reason or cause, one thing is certain; grandparents need plenty of support when they are suddenly thrust back into the parenting role.

When Boomers take over the parenting role, they may be overwhelmed with a number of different emotions. They may feel happy that they were able to step in and make sure that their grandchildren are properly being cared for, but there is no denying that it is hard work. It often occurs at a time when most grandparents are looking forward to their retirement years and slowing down. Raising their grandchildren is a definite upset in their plans and this can result in feelings of anger, grief, resentment, and even sadness.

Since many grandparents have left the work place, there are a number of particular financial challenges that face grandfamilies particularly. It is important that grandparents seek support to ensure that they not only provide the best care for their grandkids, but also have access to support that provides a lifeline for grandparents. Fortunately, since there are so many grandparents raising children, it isn't hard to find friends who are in the same situation and build support that way. Finding the balance in raising grandchildren and still claiming their own lives is imperative to ensuring that grandparents can meet the challenges with vigor, energy, and a positive outlook.

Jesus fulfilled the Law, and brought forth a New Testament from God, where all men, no matter what faith, what backgrounds, history, national origin or color, can be saved threw His name. We all became lost and were held accountable for sin. We are therefore like all faiths in the world under condemnation for sin, but can be saved by our faith in Christ. Ars.)

Christian doctrine is offensive to Muslims? Uhuh. And Islamic doctrine is offensive to Christians. Anyone familiar with the teachings of both religions understand that Christianity and Islam are, like many religions, mutually incompatible.

While religions may have many ethical and philosophical approaches in common, fact is that certain core doctrines, teachings considered essential the a given faith, can not be accepted without violating the central tenets of another faith. End.

As the Catholic Church states that, Space Aliens are conceivable, we see many in that faith, accepting a compromise, or should I say, pushing a doctrine of unity among the Islamic Faith, and The Faith, and Doctrine, of Jesus Christ.

To answer his article, I say, we as believers in Jesus Christ, cannot accept compromise with any other religion, that denies Jesus as The Son of God. Our faith, and hope, lies in the truth of the Gospel of Christ. There were many religions in the days of Christ, that also not only denied Him, but also the God, that they say sent them.

"But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God." We have come too far, and have endured too much, to turn out back on Christ now. We must hold our faith, and teach also the truth of salvation threw Jesus Christ. To the Jew first and then the gentiles, for as it is written, "Salvation is of the Jews."

For from the beginning of the beginning, the House of Israel was the chosen people of God. Christians know that we are to bless Israel and not to curse. For we, as gentiles are grafted in as a wild branch, and also we can be grafted out.

Islam states of Jesus, that He was a prophet sent from God, and nothing else. If this is so, then why do they denigh their own words, and persecute all who believe in Him. Why do they not follow the words of this prophet? Are they therefore subverting their own words, like wise any other man, that claims to be a Christian, that accepts compromise in His faith, is he not also subverting their own words?

We can preach salvation to the believers in Islam, the believers in Scientology, and others so long as we do not denigh the one who sent us. We must endure all things for the elect's sakes, so they will have hope in the resurrection of the righteous.

Who today, in this world of religions, would kill the Son of God? Who would denigh Him, persecute Him and declare Him to be a false Messiah?

We, as Believers, know for a fact what the Gospel means, especially on the subject of the Trinity, for didn't Christ say, "I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me, the Father and I are One." Can we also separate God from His own Spirit? Therefore if we believe that Christ is in the Father and the Father is in Christ and God cannot be separated from His own Spirit, there is the Trinity, that we, as Christians believe in.

Islam, as a faith, must be allowed to conduct their own religion, but the problem lies, when Islam tries to force all men to conform to their belief. If we as a Christian, do not interfere with Islam, Islam must allow Christianity to also conduct our faith, in peace and friendship. Ars. Regardless of the commotion that you & your gang caused by breaking down walls, there seems to be no security services in the area to bother you. From the broken window you see the border of the city separated by a small river in the final scene. There is a bridge to walk over to the other side. A sense of freedom breathes into you. Your mates proceed on to walk over the bridge towards the other side of the small river.

Suddenly an armed man looking like a militia from some war torn country walks up to the scene. He does nothing but follows you & your mates to the other side towards freedom.

Once you reach the other side you see Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt standing on a pedestal, just standing on it & not really looking at anyone nor anything. They are surprised that you successfully prove yourself worthy of being with Angelina Jolie's twin. You then get into a lift going downwards & the Angelina Jolie Twin follows you into the lift; she embraces you. She endlessly gazes you with her loving eyes.

Many Christians today heavily rely upon the present day Theologians to tell them how to believe. They think that these teachers must be right because they are suppose to know God's will and thus we must follow what they teach. Unfortunately people have forgotten the basic principle to following the teachings of Christ.

Christ came not so we would become robots thinking the same kind of thoughts and adhering to the standard principles of those who are supposedly in the loop. Christ came to set us free to think as individuals.

Too many Christians forget that Christ died for our sins so we would have the freedom to have direct contact with Him. A contact that opens us up to a new way of thinking.

The Holy Spirit was given to instruct people on the inside about how they would need to believe in their own individual life experience. This means that the laws handed down by Moses becomes a guide on how to treat others. But they are no longer the rules on how to follow God completely.

Jesus explained that we must love our neighbors as ourselves. That love supersedes judgment. He warns that He is the only Judge! He even makes an amazing statement!

John 10:39, "Jesus said, 'I came to this world to judge, so that the blind should see and those who see should become blind.'"

We are in a learning world and in order for us to achieve God's education goals for our lives we must learn from what we go through in our lives. In order to learn we must be presented with differences. These differences take on many forms.

Jesus came that we might have life in a lost world. A world that is filled with evil and unable to see that it and its people are wrong about life.

We are here to go down paths that show us why people who run this world are so corrupt. That is the reason we must be in charge of our belief system.

We must not let anyone tell us how to believe. We must rely upon the voice inside us and not on people or even theologians. Remember Jesus tells us that those who think they see are BLIND!

Hebrews 10:16, "This is the covenant that I will make with them in the days to come, says the Lord; I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds."

Christians are suppose to gain revelation from the people who surround their lives not upon how others tell them how you are suppose to believe. We are born into different family experiences in order to learn from our families, friends and our culture about loving unconditionally.

We are to gain knowledge not from following the crowd but by allowing love to guide us in how we are to act towards each other. Love is the principle that Christ was showing us when He died for all people.

He did not die so we could cut off our family members when they didn't follow the words directly as taught in the Bible. He didn't die so we could hate the people who did us wrong. He died so we would understand the concept of love and how it helps us to overcome a corrupt society.

We are in a life game where our only hope of survival is to rely on the voice inside our head. A voice that is telling us how to let go of how the world thinks and to hold onto how God wants us to think.

2 Timothy 4:3&4, "The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends."

Don't be confused by ministers and teachers who teach us to hate those who love. Listen to God's voice of truth and hold onto love no matter how many credentials the so-called theologians have before or after their names.

Many military heroes have died in combat in Iraq. Recently a so-called minister of the faith proclaimed that each of these people's death is the result of the sin of allowing homosexuals into the armed forces.

From his teachings crowds of people have intruded upon grieving families holding signs and chanting that their sons and daughters are sinners. All of this is done in the name of God.

When a minister, theologian, or teacher of any kind teaches you to hate, do not ever believe that it is God. God is Love! God is Good. And to say that he instigates hate is to allow people to think for you and not God.

Many people do not understand why we are at war in Iraq. They believe that the Muslim people's God is the same as the Jewish/Christian God. But I will tell you they are not the same.

All Muslims are taught from an early age that their religion is the only right religion. They openly teach hatred of Jews and Christians.

From their hatred of other forms of religion many are openly invited to participate in sacrificing themselves as human bombs in order to kill those who don't believe in their God. This is totally opposite from how Jews and Christians are taught to live.

Our Judeo-Christian Bible teaches us to love. We are taught to do good to our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us. We are taught the Golden Rule. "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."

Look how opposite each of these faiths are! One teaches hatred the other teaches love. To live in a teaching world is to recognize the difference between God and Satan. To play and win a life game we must control our own game!

When any teacher comes proclaiming a message from God that tells us we are to hate and destroy our brothers this is not Jesus Christ. These people love to hate and their hatred is for the sole purpose of controlling people and getting them to follow their teachings and not Jesus Christ's.

This is the very reason we must listen to the voice of truth that is within us. We must react in love and not allow evil people to gain control over us by telling us we must hate those who do not love like we love.

1 Timothy 6:3-5, "Whoever teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching of our religion is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words, and this brings on jealousy, disputes, insults, evil suspicions, and constant arguments from people whose minds do not function and who no longer have the truth. They think that religion is a way to become rich."

Many television ministers teach hatred against gays and anyone that does not follow the words in the Bible according to their interpretation. They use the Bible to persuade people to live according to their teachings and not God's.

We must be in control of how we think. We must take our own life experiences and allow them to shape and mold us into loving people who are compassionate and caring towards all people. Hatred is Satan and is opposite from the love of Jesus Christ.

We must not judge! Judgment puts us in the place of God. We are not God. We are the children of God. To judge is to prevent the Holy Spirit from speaking to us on the inside.

Never allow others to tell you how to believe. Never allow others to tell you to hate. If a television minister tells you to hate people because of how they love, turn them off!

Judgment prevents people from learning the truth. When we judge we no longer try to understand. When we judge we prevent the Holy Spirit from teachings us God's truth of how love helps us to overcome what we don't understand. "The Game Of Life Its Almost Over"!
